Parent Crew Spotlight - the Reeder Family

​Meet our Parent Crew Volunteer of the month, the Reeder family!

We are the Reeder family. Mark and Sara moved to Castle Rock from Iowa eleven years ago and never turned back. The views drew us in (but let's be honest, the lack of humidity and mosquitoes aren't a terrible selling feature either). We enjoy hiking, biking, camping, and tackling home improvement projects together as a family and are always up for a new adventure. Grayson is currently in 3rd grade at REMS and enjoys playing Minecraft, Roblox, baseball, and working on his ninja skills. Rocklyn is a spicy kindergartener and enjoys soccer, gymnastics, playing Roblox with Grayson, and swimming as much as she possibly can.

Mark and I knew we had found something special when we first toured Renaissance as Grayson entered kindergarten. Their emphasis on education, teamwork, integrity, and exploration was unmatched, and we have been blown away by the incredible opportunities Grayson and Rocklyn have received from Renaissance ever since. We know that experiences like Rock Climbing, RAD Day, the Fall Carnival, and the countless hikes and voyages take an immense amount of work to be successful. We are honored to be able to help wherever we can to help make them possible. 

Sara has had the pleasure of helping with several Spring Auctions, RAD Days, and Fall Carnivals, as well as Belaying and assisting in various roles in the kid's classrooms throughout the years. Meanwhile, Mark has enjoyed two Winter Voyages to Keystone Science Center as a Chaperone with Grayson's class.

Renaissance has allowed Grayson and Rocklyn to find others who share their passion for learning and discovery. Mark and I have treasured watching them develop these skills that will stay with them for a lifetime. We are fortunate that Renaissance allows parents to play such an active role in their growth and experiences, and we look forward to seeing what other adventures are to come.
